After Midnight (1989)

"After Midnight" is a 1989 horror anthology film directed by Jim and Ken Wheat. The movie is comprised of three segments, each telling a different tale of terror:

The first segment, titled "The Old Dark House" Joan and Kevin, celebrating Kevin's birthday, decide to take a drive along an old coastal highway after dinner. Their plans take a sinister turn when a blown tire strands them, revealing tacks on the road. Reluctantly, they seek assistance at a nearby dilapidated mansion. Once inside, they become separated, and Kevin stumbles upon a room filled with eerie human skulls arranged on a table.

The second segment, "A Night on the Town" Four underage young women: Jennifer, Lisa, Amy, and Kelly sneak into a downtown Los Angeles club but are promptly ejected. Lost in a seedy industrial area, they run out of gas and seek refuge at an apparently deserted gas station. Jennifer and Lisa venture into the station garage, where they encounter a lecherous attendant and his menacing pack of dogs. The situation takes a dangerous turn when the attendant threatens the girls with a knife.

The third and final segment, "All Night Operator," centers on a radio DJ who receives a series of disturbing calls from a listener who claims to be a killer.

Combining elements of suspense, mystery, and supernatural horror, "After Midnight" offers a variety of chilling tales designed to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

While not widely known, "After Midnight" remains a hidden gem for fans of '80s horror anthologies, offering a nostalgic trip back to the era of VHS horror rentals and late-night scares. With its mix of suspenseful storytelling and eerie atmosphere, "After Midnight" is sure to satisfy horror aficionados looking for a spooky cinematic experience.
