Two young boys

Two young boys walked into a pharmacy one day, picked out a box of tampons and proceeded to the checkout counter. The pharmacist at the counter asked the older boy, 'Son, how old are you?' 'Eight', the boy replied. The man continued, 'Do you know what these are used for?' The boy replied, 'Not exactly, but they aren't for me. They're for him. He's my brother. He's four." "Oh, really?" the pharmacist replied with a grin. "Yes." the boy said. "We saw on TV that if you use these, you would be able to swim, play tennis and ride a bike. Right now, he can't do none of those."

John Alexander

Frank Capra preferred Andy Devine for the role of the delusional Teddy "Theodore Roosevelt" Brewster in "Arsenic and Old Lace" (1944). The role eventually went to John Alexander, who received rave critical reviews for his performance. The Broadway comedy opened at the Fulton Theatre on January 10, 1941 and ran for 1,444 performances, closing on June 17, 1944. Repeating their stage roles in the movie were "Brewster siblings" Josephine Hull, Jean Adair and Alexander, all three getting time off from the New York play. According to "Dear Boris" biographer Cynthia Lindsay, Hull and Adair went to their graves believing that Boris Karloff had been so saintly as to agree to let them go to Hollywood to make this film while he stayed on Broadway doing the play. Nothing could have been further from the truth: Karloff was very angry and disappointed that he was the only play cast member not allowed out of his contract to do the film. Alexander had pr...

I Never Knew This!!! His mother was 40 years old when Jesse was born. Jesse grew up in a very rough home in Morgantown, West Virginia. Jesse’s father, who was mentally ill, was a violent man and was abusive to Jesse. At 13, his father died leaving his mother to take care of him and his brothers. At the time, things weren’t easy for Jesse and he didn’t think life held much hope for him. While Jesse had his struggles, he had dreams too. He wanted to be a ventriloquist and he found books on ventriloquism. He practiced with sock puppets and saved his money until he could get a real ventriloquist dummy. When he was old enough, he joined the military. The military recognized his talents and placed him in the entertainment corp. He toured the western Pacific Islands as a comedian as part of a G.I. variety show called "Stars and Gripes.” It was there he was able to share his talents with fellow soldiers.

Diane Ladd

Diane Ladd has been nominated for three Academy Awards. In each of the films, her daughter Laura appeared as well. In "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore" (1974), Laura can be seen in the final diner scene, she is the little blonde girl with glasses sitting at the end of the counter eating an ice cream cone. As Dern would recall years later, it was after the nineteenth take, and exactly that many cones consumed, that director Martin Scorsese informed Ladd that if her daughter could do that without throwing up, she had to be an actress. Ladd and Dern's Oscar nominations for "Rambling Rose" (1991) mark the first time a mother and daughter ever received such an accolade for appearing in the same film. The only other time that a parent and child received acting nominations for the same film was when Henry Fonda and Jane Fonda were both nominated for "On Golden Pond" (1981). The pair also appeared together in "Wild at Heart" (1990, bel...

The following year, Kane began to work at Iger's subsequent studio, Eisner & Iger, which was one of the first comic book "packagers" that produced comics on demand for publishers entering the new medium during its late-1930s and 1940s Golden Age. Among his work there was the funny animal feature "Peter Pupp" — which belied its look with overtones of "mystery and menace"— published in the U.K. comic magazine Wags and reprinted in Fiction House's Jumbo comics. Kane also produced work through...

Mary Ann Bevan

She is Mary Ann Bevan who was known as the "ugliest woman in the world" but when you know her life you'll call her the "most beautiful person in the world." Marry Ann suffered from acromegaly due to which she had abnormal growth nd facial distortion. After the death of her husband, with no breadwinner in the house, accumulating debts and financial needs of her 4 children she decided to enter the humiliating contest and won the offensive title of "ugliest woman in the world" later she was hired by a circus, toured different cities where people came to laugh nd humiliate her. She endured the ridicule of others in order to raise her children nd give them a better quality of life. She died in 1933. To this day, society judges people on their physical appearance, if our eyes could see souls instead of bodies, Mary Ann would have been the most beautiful woman in the world.

Helderwetend

His drumming style (cf. "Bongo Blues", "Apache") is noticeably different from that of other drummers that the Shadows employed during 1958–2010 such as Brian Bennett, Clem Cattini and Trevor Spencer. They didn't regret anything, they were grateful. Then she repeated softly, “I love you forever!” He returned her words, gave her a soft kiss on the forehead. She closed her eyes and fell asleep peacefully with her hand in his. Love is really all that matters because everyone comes into this world with nothing other than love and leaves with nothing other than love. Think about it. Love, as if there was nothing more important in your life. God bless you my friends.

Capitan

For 6 years, a dog named Capitan slept in the grave of his owner every night. His owner, Miguel Guzman died in 2006 and Capitan disappeared shortly after the family attended the funeral services. They searched everywhere and put out flyers to try and find him. But no one had seen him. A week later, some people who were at the cemetery late one evening spotted Capitan laying on the grave and they contacted the grounds keeper at the cemetery. The cemetery notified the family who promptly came to pick him up and take him home. But each night he would cry and scratch frantically at the door to go out and he wouldn't return home until morning. It was later discovered that Capitan would walk the 3 miles back to the cemetery each night to guard his master's grave. It happened for 7 years. The cemetery did not close the gates until he arrived each night promptly at 6 pm. He slept there all night guarding the grave until the ground keeper opened the gate in the morning. This is a true p...

A man was flying

A man was flying from Seattle to San Francisco. The plane had a layover in Sacramento. The flight attendant explained that there would be a delay, and if the passengers wanted to get off the aircraft, the plane would re-board in one hour. Everybody got off the plane except one gentleman who was blind. Another man had noticed him as he walked by and could tell the gentleman was blind because his Seeing Eye dog lay quietly underneath the seats in front of him throughout the entire flight. He could also tell he had flown this very flight before because the pilot approached him, and calling him by name, said, "Keith, we're in Sacramento for an hour, would you like to get off and stretch your legs? " The blind man replied, "No thanks, but maybe my dog would like to stretch his legs." Picture this: All the people in the gate area came to a complete standstill when they looked up and saw the pilot walk off the plane with a Seeing Eye dog! The pilot was even wearing sun...

Smoky was a 4 lb, 7 inches tall, Yorkshire Terrier who served in World War II. In 1944 Smoky was found in a foxhole in the jungles of New Guinea by an American soldier who brought her back to camp and sold her to Corporal William A. Wynne for $6.44. For the next 2 years, Smoky lived a soldier's life. Because she was not an official military dog, she did not get dog food or medical care. She shared Wynne’s meals and slept beside him in his tent. The little dog even flew 12 air/sea rescue and photo reconnaissance missions, secured in the soldier's backpack. She survived 150 air raids and saved Wynne by warning him of incoming shells. Like many Yorkies, Smoky also loved to learn tricks and perform. She did so with the Special Services – entertaining soldiers in hospitals. After the war Smoky was flown back to the US hidden in an oxygen mask-carrying case. For the next 10 years, she made television and public appearances in Veterans' hospitals until her death in 1957.
