Cooking with Love
Did you know it wasn’t just romance in which Barbara Cartland had a healthy interest? Many decades before anyone else had thought of the notion, the Queen of Romance was a pioneer of healthy eating and alternative medicine.Back in 1964, she founded the ground-breaking National Association for Health and, from then on, somehow found time to write numerous books on the importance of healthy eating, herbs and alternative therapies.
These non-fiction works proved almost as popular as her tales of Pure Romance. Her 1970 book ‘The Magic of Honey’ caused such a honey-buying frenzy that health food shops suffered shortages.
And by the 1980s, such was Barbara’s standing in this new field of expertise that she supplied nutritional advice and vitamin supplements to no less a figure than Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher!
