Beat Street


 "Beat Street" is a drama film released in 1984, directed by Stan Lathan.

It's set in the South Bronx of New York City and follows the lives of several characters involved in the emerging hip-hop culture of the early 1980s.

The film revolves around the lives of aspiring young graffiti artist Raymond "Ray" and his breakdancing brother, Kenny. The characters find solace and meaning in various elements of hip-hop culture, including graffiti art and breakdancing.

"Beat Street" is notable for its authentic portrayal of the hip-hop scene during its formative years. It features performances by prominent hip-hop artists of the time, including Afrika Bambaataa & Soulsonic Force, Grandmaster Melle Mel & the Furious Five, and Doug E. Fresh, among others.
