Breaking Bad

In an interview, Vince Gilligan once revealed a much darker ending he originally planned for Breaking Bad and it involved Skyler White.

After Jesse breaks into the house, Walt tells his family to pack up and leave for a hotel. Skyler and Walt Jr. overhear everything and quietly do exactly that.

But once they arrive, Walt goes into the bathroom… and what follows is meant to be a complete tragedy.
Gilligan has said he wanted a devastating end for Skyler, but it was something they ultimately couldn’t (or wouldn’t) show on screen. Instead, the show settled for a subtle, chilling piece of symbolism.

In Felina, Skyler’s shadow briefly appears in a way that many fans believe hints at that abandoned ending blink and you’ll miss it, but once you see it, it’s hard to forget. (The shadow of Skyler in Felina looks like she’s h@ng*ng herself.)

Breaking Bad never wasted a frame. Even its darkest ideas still haunt the final cut.
