Freddie’s Green Bathrobe Sold At Auction
Freddie’s Green Bathrobe Sold At Auction
Freddie Mercury's owned and worn green velour bathrobe size medium is pictured below. It’s from the personal collection of renowned booking agent and promotional manager Irwin Pate.
Irwin knew Freddie and worked with him on a few occasions and promoted a few Queen concerts. During a meeting in Montreal Freddie gave Irwin some items from his collection that he no longer used, including this green bathrobe.
When traveling on concert tours Irwin often would obtain items worn by the artists from tour crew members and venue staff. Freddie is known for wearing bathrobes which makes this piece more desirable.
This item was auctioned off August of 2021 and was listed in overall good condition. These pieces have been in the possession of the Pates up to the time of this auction.
Each item auctioned was accompanied with a letter of provenance from his wife Clarine Pate on Pate Booking Agency letterhead. Also came with a Gotta Have Rock and Roll Certificate of authenticity.
The auction price was around $2000.00 and the buyer unknown.
