MOULIN ROUGE

 "MOULIN ROUGE!" --- (2001) ---

MY THOUGHTS: I absolutely love this movie and everything about it! The use of the songs, and the songs used, are genius. The dance numbers are fantastic, most especially the one where they dance to "Roxanne", and the editing (back and forth) between what is going on with the dancers and what is going on with Satine and the Duke. It is intense, emotional and does a great deal to propel the story forward in a way mere spoken word ever could. The lead actors do an amazing job, and the supporting cast does as well. I could watch it over and over again and have.
