A Grandparent’s Letter Through Time
“A Grandparent’s Letter Through Time”
My dear one, time feels softer now, slower too.
I’ve walked many roads before you,
and I want to leave some words behind—
threads you can hold when the world feels heavy.
I’ve learned that laughter often comes with tears,
that love can break you open and still
be the only thing worth holding onto.
I’ve learned that even silence
can speak louder than words,
when it’s filled with presence.
I carry stories in my wrinkles,
not as burdens, but as reminders
that life is stitched together
by moments—ordinary, fleeting, holy.
If you could sit inside my memories,
you’d see the beauty of the simple things:
kitchen tables, prayers at night,
the way children’s footsteps
echo long after they’ve grown.
I don’t claim to have all the answers,
but this I know:
Love without condition.
Forgive quickly.
Stay when it’s easier to leave.
Hold the hand beside you a little longer.
And remember this—
every step you take today
was paved by prayers I whispered yesterday.
When you feel alone,
look around at the life you’re living.
You are my proof
that nothing in love is ever wasted.
With all my heart,
Grandma
