I’m a mom

 I’m a mom.

That means I’m a chef making three different meals and somehow still getting complaints.
I’m a secretary keeping track of appointments, school emails, spirit days, and birthdays.
I’m a chauffeur logging more miles than my car was ever meant to see.
I’m a nurse, a therapist, a teacher, a referee, and a personal assistant all before noon.

I run a house that never clocks out.
I problem solve on no sleep.
I remember everything so everyone else doesn’t have to.

And even with all of that
the most important thing I am
is their safe place.

The one they look for in a crowded room.
The voice that calms them.
The arms that always feel like home.

I’m a mom.
And somehow that title covers everything.
