The Man Who Came to Dinner

"The Man Who Came to Dinner" is a 1942 American comedy film directed by William Keighley. The film stars Bette Davis, Ann Sheridan, and Monty Woolley.

The story revolves around a famously acerbic radio personality named Sheridan Whiteside (Monty Woolley). While on a lecture tour in Ohio, Whiteside slips on ice and injures himself. As a result, he's forced to stay in the home of a local family, the Stanleys, as he recovers. What begins as a temporary inconvenience for the Stanleys soon turns into a chaotic and hilarious ordeal as Whiteside takes over their household and meddles in their affairs, causing all sorts of mischief and mayhem.

Monty Woolley delivers a standout performance as the cantankerous Whiteside, and the supporting cast, including Bette Davis and Ann Sheridan, adds to the film's charm.

"The Man Who Came to Dinner" is considered a classic of American comedy and remains a beloved favorite among fans of vintage Hollywood cinema.
