 Trivia of Evelyn Keyes (20 November 1916 - 4 July 2008)

*During her teenage years, Keyes studied voice, dance, piano, and performed in various clubs in the Atlanta area. She hoped to one day become a ballerina but her entry in a beauty pageant opened the door to working as a chorus girl.By age 18, Keyes came out to Hollywood and was introduced to Cecil B. DeMille who in her own words “signed me to a personal contract without even making a test”.
*She was best-known for playing Scarlett O'Hara's younger sister, Suellen O'Hara in Gone with the Wind (1939).Her 1977 autobiography titled "carlett O'Hara's Younger Sister: My Lively Life In and Out of Hollywood ".
*Keyes expressed her opinion that Mrs. Mike (1949) was her best film.She play as young Boston woman named Kathy O'Fallon, travels north to visit her Uncle John (J.M Kerrigan) at his cabin near the Canada–US border. While there she meets Sgt.Mike Flannigan (Dick Powell) and fall in love.
*She became involved with flamboyant producer Mike Todd for three years during his preparation and filming of Around the World in 80 Days (1956). She even played a cameo role in the movie and helped on publicity. During the filming, Todd broke things off after falling in love with Elizabeth Taylor, whom he later married. The positive thing that came out of it for Keyes was that she had invested most of her money in the picture and was financially set for life as a result.
*She was married to Barton Oliver Bainbridge Sr. from 1938 until his death from suicide in 1940. Later, she married and divorced director Charles Vidor (1943–1945), actor/director John Huston (23 July 1946 – February 1950), and bandleader Artie Shaw (1957–1985). Keyes said of her many love affairs: "I always took up with the man of the moment and there were many such moments."While married to Huston, the couple adopted a Mexican child, Pablo, whom Huston had discovered while filming on location in Mexico for The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948).
*Evelyn Keyes and Glenn Ford appeared in six films together: The Lady in Question (1940), The Adventures of Martin Eden (1942), Flight Lieutenant (1942), The Desperadoes (1943), The Mating of Milling (1948), and Mr. Soft Touch (1949).
*Keyes' last role in a major film was a small part as Tom Ewell's vacationing wife in The Seven Year Itch (1955), which starred Marilyn Monroe.Marilyn Monroe, Tom Ewell and Evelyn Keyes were several years older than their characters. Monroe was 28 while her character has 22, Ewell was 45 while his character has 38 to 39, and Keyes turned 38 during the filming while her character has 31.
