The biggest lie we’ve ever been sold

The biggest lie we’ve ever been sold was being taught that having kids takes away from your life.

They slow you down. They distract you. They make you less productive. They cause you to put your dreams on hold.

But I’ve learned something far more powerful. Raising my babies isn’t a pause. It isn’t a detour. It’s the most important and rewarding thing I have ever done with my life.

It’s not about the job title or the house or how many people know my name. It’s about the little hearts I hold in my hands every day. It’s about whether they felt safe in my arms, whether they knew their feelings mattered, whether they grew up knowing they were deeply loved.

That is the most important work. That is the kind of success I want to chase.

Because when they look back, I don’t want them to remember perfection. I want them to remember presence.

And that will always be enough.
