I’m not raising my kids to make you feel more comfortable

I’m not raising my kids to make you feel more comfortable.

I’m not here to explain our boundaries just to avoid making waves.
I’m here to protect my child, even if that means disappointing people I once tried so hard to please.

I used to shrink myself.
I used to let things slide so no one would call me “too much.”
But now I have someone watching how I move through the world.
Someone learning from every decision I make.

So no, I won’t prioritize your feelings over their peace.
I won’t stay quiet so you can stay comfortable.
Their safety comes first.
Their heart matters more than your opinion.

You don’t need to understand it.
You don’t even need to like it.
Because I’m not here for approval.
I’m here to raise a child who knows they are protected, loved, and safe in this world.

That’s my only job.
And I won’t apologize for doing it with my whole heart.
