She’s just a stay at home mom

“She’s just a stay at home mom”

But they don’t see her at 5am, quietly making coffee before the chaos begins.
They don’t see her crying on the bathroom floor because she’s touched out, drained, and still needed.

She wipes noses and tears like it’s her job
Because it is
Except she doesn’t get a paycheck
Or lunch breaks
Or sick days

She remembers everything for everyone
The appointments, the snacks, the laundry no one notices until it’s not done
She is the glue
The anchor
The one everyone leans on when life gets too heavy

And yet people still say
She doesn’t work

But she does
All day
All night
In ways that can’t be measured

She holds the world together with shaking hands and a tired heart
So no
She’s not just anything

She is everything
And she deserves to be seen like that
