Billy Gilbert
Billy Gilbert 1894-1971, appeared in 235 Films and TV shows between 1929 & 1962. He worked for Hal Roach and was in several Laurel & Hardy films such as "Pardon Us" (1931) and "The Music Box" 1932, he also appeared with ZaSu Pitts & Thelma Todd, Thelma Todd & Patsy Kelly including "Soup and Fish" (1934),, The Marx Brothers in "A Night at the Opera" (1935), and as the character 'Herring'with Charlie Chaplin in "The Great Dictator" (1940). He did the voice for 'Sneezy' using his trademark sneezing routine for Walt Disney's first fill-length animated feature-film, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" (1937). he was in Laurel & Hardy's "Block-Heads" (1938), he played 'Loupgerou' in "Destry Rides Again" (1939), and many know him as the dim-witted process server Joe Pettibonein in "His Girl Friday" (1940). He was always in demand and acting up until his retirement in 1962. He married in 1937 to Ella McKenzie and they remained together until his death in 1971.
