I’m not obligated to keep you up to date on my kids.
That’s not my responsibility.If you never ask about them, if you never show up, if you don’t check in… don’t act shocked when they don’t “know” you. Kids remember who was there. Who cared. Who took the time.
It’s not about fancy gifts or perfect timing, it’s about effort. About consistency. About love that doesn’t need an invitation.
I won’t force my children to build a relationship with someone who couldn’t even bother to pick up the phone or send a text.
They deserve people who want to be part of their lives. Not people who expect access without doing the work.
So no, I won’t keep you updated.
If you want to be in their world, you have to show up in it.
