All my kids need to know is that I’m coming

All my kids need to know is that I’m coming.

You’re locked out? I’m coming.
You need a ride? I’m coming.
You’re somewhere you’re not supposed to be? I’ll deal with that when I get you home but I’m coming.
You’re embarrassed, uncomfortable, sick, or you just don’t wanna be there anymore? I’m coming.

That’s what being a mom is. Showing up. Being the one they can count on. Making sure they know they’re never alone in this world.

Even when I’m tired. Even when I feel like I can’t give anymore. Even when I want to just lay down and quit for the night I’m still coming.

Because at the end of the day, nothing matters more to me than them knowing they’ll never call out for me and not hear me say, “I’m on my way.”
