One of the most important things
One of the most important things I’m teaching my kids is that “no” is a complete sentence.
They don’t have to give a reason. They don’t have to explain themselves.
They don’t have to make other people comfortable with their decision.
Because saying no isn’t rude. It’s not mean. It’s not something to feel guilty about.
It’s a form of self-respect.
I want them to grow up knowing that their boundaries matter. That it’s okay to walk away from something that doesn’t feel right. That they can choose not to hug someone, not to stay in a conversation that makes them uncomfortable, not to say yes just because they don’t want to disappoint someone.
I want them to understand that the people who truly love and respect them will honor their “no” without question.
And I hope they carry that confidence into adulthood knowing they are allowed to protect their energy, their peace, and their heart. Always.
Because “no” can be one of the most loving things you say… to yourself.
