Because I said so

“Because I said so” doesn’t apply when it’s not your child.

I don’t care if you raised five kids.
I don’t care if “they turned out fine.”
I’m raising mine differently and that’s not an invitation to debate.

This isn’t about disrespect.
This is about boundaries.

If I say no sugar before dinner, don’t sneak it behind my back.
If I say no yelling, don’t call it discipline.
If I say we don’t spank, you don’t get to do it “just once.”

You had your turn.
This is mine.

Respecting my parenting isn’t optional just because you share DNA with my child.
If you want to be in their life, you follow the rules we set.

Because this isn’t about control.
It’s about consistency.
It’s about safety.
It’s about raising a child who knows that their parents will show up for them even when it’s uncomfortable.

And trust me…
Calling out overstepping is never fun.
But it’s part of parenting too
