A toddler
A toddler doesn’t need to be “well-behaved” to be allowed in public.
They’re not wild.They’re not bad.
They’re learning.
In real time. In real places. With real people watching.
Every tantrum in Target.
Every meltdown at brunch.
Every loud laugh at the grocery store.
It’s not them “misbehaving.”
It’s them practicing how to exist in the world.
They learn by doing
by going out, messing up, being guided gently.
Not by staying home until they’re “perfect.”
The world doesn’t need kids who can sit still and stay silent.
It needs kids who know how to express themselves and trust they’ll still be loved when they do.
So yes, bring the toddlers.
To the store.
To the café.
To the playdate, the plane, the restaurant.
They’re not just welcome.
They belong.
