Motherhood is being completely touched out

Motherhood is being completely touched out, overstimulated to your core, and still whispering “I love you” a hundred times a day.

It’s hands on you all day long.
Little voices calling your name on repeat.
Toys everywhere.
Food requests every five minutes.
Noise. So much noise.

And just when you think you can’t take one more second of it
You pull them close.
You tuck them in.
You run your fingers through their hair.
You kiss their cheek and tell them you love them.

Because even though your body is tired,
your nerves are fried,
and your brain feels like it’s about to short-circuit
your heart never stops showing up.

You can want space and still love them fiercely.
You can crave quiet and still be gentle.
You can feel overstimulated and still be a damn good mom.

You’re not broken for feeling like it’s too much.
You’re not a bad mom for needing to hide in the bathroom sometimes.
You’re real. You’re human. You’re doing your best.

And that is more than enough.
