The Seven Year Itch

"The Seven Year Itch" is a 1955 romantic comedy film directed by Billy Wilder and based on the three-act play of the same name by George Axelrod. The film stars Marilyn Monroe and Tom Ewell.

The story follows Richard Sherman (Tom Ewell), a middle-aged publishing executive whose family leaves town for the summer. Left alone in their New York City apartment, Richard begins to fantasize about the possibilities of bachelorhood. His fantasies are further fueled when he encounters a beautiful and vivacious neighbor, known simply as "The Girl" (Marilyn Monroe). As Richard's imagination runs wild with romantic fantasies, he must grapple with the temptations and consequences of infidelity.

"The Seven Year Itch" is known for its iconic imagery, particularly the scene where Marilyn Monroe's character stands over a subway grate, causing her dress to billow up. This image has become one of the most famous moments in cinema history
