They say it’s “just a phase.”

They say it’s “just a phase.”

Like that makes it easier.
Like knowing it will end means it’s not hard right now.

But when you’re in it…
When the tantrums are daily.
When the sleep is broken.
When the clinginess leaves you touched-out and exhausted.
When you can’t remember the last time you had a moment to yourself
It doesn’t feel small.

It feels big.
It feels heavy.
It feels like this is your new forever.

Yes, it will pass.
Yes, one day you’ll miss it.
But today, it’s okay to admit that “just a phase” can still be really, really hard.
